Jennifer Sanger attended the Art Institutes for Fashion and Retail management, but has no formal designer training. Jennifer purchases all of her fabrics from thrift stores. "I tend to work with unconventional fabrics like thrifted bedding or curtains."
"I started Phlipped Fashions as a college project. I am the middle child of 5 and got a lot of hand-me-downs which were out of season! I would reconstruct them into current trends that worked best for me at the time. I have done this my entire life and in my last semester of college, I decided to make a career out of it. I work with recycled material and re-purposed clothing, I turn discarded materials into modern clothing. I redesign lightly used clothing into a stunning, one of a kind piece. This means each piece is unique and will never be duplicated or mass produced!"
"Music is my biggest inspiration! I always have some music playing while I am creating my pieces. I am also inspired by my surroundings; the weather, local arts and colors. I definitely look to other designers like Jonathan Simkhai and I get great inspiration from his line."
