Our current class schedule includes basic sewing, design, and DIY skills. Future classes will include advanced sewing, styling, photography, and other aspects of the fashion industry for varying skill levels. Please fill out this form to let us know if you are interested in a particular type of class.

I Screen, You Screen 

Basics of DIY Screen Printing: T-shirt

 

Thursday, October 20

6:00-8:00 p.m.

Cost = $35 for the class + $10 for materials ($45 total)

Included Supplies:

  • Ink, screens, squeegies -- all you need to get the job done

  • A basic T-shirt for printing

  • NOTE: You may bring additional items to print (must be flat and at least the size of a sheet of paper, such as a t-shirt, pillow case, tote bag, paper, etc.)

You'll learn:

  • Overview of how to create the screen (instruction only)

  • How to apply the screen to the garment or item (hands on)

  • How to apply the ink to the screen (hands on)

  • How to prep and dry the printed item (hands on)

You'll go home with:

  • Basic knowledge of how to make screen printed items

  • Hands-on experience in the printing part of it

  • At least one custom screen printed T-shirt -- or more items if you bring them!

Yo Kimono!

Basic Sewing: Kimono-Style Wrap Jacket

 

Saturday, November 19

12:00-2:30 p.m.

Cost = $40 for the class + $15 for materials ($55 total)

Included Supplies:

  • Sewing machine

  • Material

  • Thread, scissors, etc.

You'll learn basics of how to:

  • Operate a sewing machine

  • Read a pattern and cut fabric

  • Create seam allowances for appropriate fit

  • Apply trim

  • Interface a garment

  • Hem a garment

  • Line a garment (optional, based on your speed)

You'll go home with:

  • Basic knowledge of how to work a sewing machine, read a pattern, and create and finish a simple garment

  • Hands-on experience 

  • A really rad kimono jacket that you can wear or give as a holiday present!

T Cozies

Basic Sewing: T-Shirt Scarf

(Great class for young adults as well as grown ones!)

Tuesday, February 28

6:30-8:30 p.m.

Cost = $35 for the class + $5 for materials ($40 total)

Included Supplies:

  • Sewing machine

  • Thread, scissors, etc.

  • Neutral material for lining (optional)

You bring:

  • 5-10 T-shirts you'd like to memorialize by turning them into a scarf

You'll learn basics of how to:

  • Operate a sewing machine

  • Make a basic pattern block for scarf andinclude seam allowances

  • Execute a few handsewing techniques

  • Interface a garment

  • Apply trim (optional)

  • Line the scarf (optional)

You'll go home with:

  • Basic knowledge of how to work a sewing machine, create and read a pattern, and create and finish a simple garment

  • Hands-on experience 

  • A cool and unique scarf that's made up of your personal t-shirt memories, which you can now rock all winter

  • If time permits, a second, completely different scarf made of the leftover scraps

(Suggestion: If you've got kiddos, bring 'em for the kids' class happening at the same time!  ONE kid per screen printing registrant. $10 for each additional kid. See below!)

  • How to apply the screen to the garment or item (hands on)

  • How to apply the ink to the screen (hands on)

Love for the Kids

Kids' Valentine's Day-themed craft that features art techniques also used in fashion design

Saturday, February 4

11:30-1:30 pm

 

Cost = 1 kid FREE per Screen printing registrant. Otherwise, $10 per kid.

Included Supplies:

  • Paper, material, scissors, paint, etc. -- all they'll need to create their works of art

Kids will learn:

  • How creativity​ results in an end product

  • Art techniques that are also used in fashion design

  • Crafting techniques they can use at home

Students will go home with:

  • An idea of the work & thought that goes into fashion and product design

  • New ideas for productive entertainment at home

  • Valentine crafts they can give to their friends & family

Examples of kids' crafts that use fashion design skills (actual craft they'll create is TBD -- may not resemble these)
